Ontario, CA – Juan Archuleta, Sultana High graduate, defended his title in the March 18th, King of the Cage fight against another local fighter Brandon Hastings. Weighing in at 155 pounds, Archuleta was declared the winner after a 24 second bout when Hastings fail prey to injury. Archuleta holds the title belt in three different weight classes for King of the Cage. Oscar De La Hoya, Olympic gold medalist and 10-time world champion boxer awarded the championship belt to Archuleta.
Brandon Hastings is the owner of White Tiger Martial Arts located in Hesperia.
Four other local fighters also competed. Jonathan Noriega representing Cobra Kai faced Armando Murillo. An illegal hit causing injury ended the fight in a no contest. Aaron Williams also representing Cobra Kai fought Thor Skancke which ended in a majority draw. Johnny Munoz Jr. from Oak Hills defeated Musa Tolliver via armbar 3:23 into round one. Finally, Ryan Fillingame, representing Team Diamond in Victorville, defeated Zach Juusola with a three-round split decision. The event was held at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.
