Big Arm Training Tutorial Part 3 – Top Supplements for Bodybuilding

This is the third video in my 3 part tutorial series on building big arms.  In part 3 I talk about top supplements for bodybuilding – supplements that can aid in building muscle size.  In case you missed the 2nd video where I cook a big meal to gain size  you can check it out here: Big Arm Training Part 2.

Part 3 of the series goes over supplements that can help you build muscle size. Just remember that supplementing when trying to put on size is secondary to eating meals that are high in protein.  Go to ATS Labs for the supplements I use and type in promo code FISHER20 at checkout for a 20% discount, free t-shirt and samples.

Hey this is Curtis here with Diet What Nots again coming at you for the third part of the tutorial on how to out size on.  Let’s get started.

So in the first part of the tutorial series I talked about putting on arm size and then I went into eating for size in the second tutorial.  This is the third tutorial so we’re going to talk about the supplements that I like to use in order to try to maintain muscle – some of that size.

Protein

We have some protein which is the cornerstone of trying to put on size.  You want to make sure you keep that protein in there.  The rule of thumb for taking protein is 1 1/2 to 2 grams per pound of body weight on a daily basis.  That’s what I try to do to maintain that muscle or even build that muscle to grow.

A lot of people say there’s controversy on the amount of protein you can try to take in on a daily basis – how much of it’s going to build muscle.  If you’re trying to do it the old school way, you’ve got to get that protein in so if you can’t afford to eat you have to do it this way.  I don’t usually do it all the time but when I’m trying to put on a little more size that’s one thing I definitely go to.

Creatine

There’s also different types of creatines.  I use the basic German Creatine – that is sufficient.  It definitely can add some water weight and some strength and it helps to protect the joints especially when you’re training heavy.

Omega

Fresh Omega – these are always good, especially if you up your protein, you want to make sure you have that in there.

Pre Workout

Everybody’s into pre workout.  I usually don’t do pre workouts, I’ll do coffee.  But when I do, I’ll do something that’s pretty strong.  This pre workout Weapon X Extreme from ATS Labs is pretty strong, there’s a lot of them out there.

Calcium Magnesium Zinc

Another basic you want to do is calcium mag zinc pills especially when you have your protein real high, you want to keep those in there.  You start to negate those levels of calcium once you take your protein to at a higher level.  Magnesium helps to transport the calcium.  The cal mag combo is the best.

Prohormones

For those on the more advanced level, you can start to take a prohormone for those of you who want to try to get some hard, dry gains.  That’s a basic androgen type of prohormone like CFI that can help out.  These are just little things that can help boost those hard lean gains.

Stacks

You can do a little stack – you have the fat burners you can do with it.  You always want to make sure you do a PCT after so that you can maintain and keep those levels that you’ve gained.  So there’s a bunch of different types out there but you want to make sure you find one that works for you.  Also you want to make sure that if you’re doing any of those ph’s, that you’re getting a lot of water.  Try to go for a gallon or more a day.

You could do something like a cycle support, which is basically milk thistle.  There are some other things in there like hawthorn that can help your blood pressure and things like that.

I have this whole array of supplements that I may go to but to tell you the truth most of the time out of the year, I don’t even do anything.  I may do some creatine – something as simple as this German Creatine.  I’ll do just one scoop a day and that’s about it.  Other than that it’s just about eating food and lifting.

I even have some joint stuff right here – if you have issues with your joints, but creatine seems to work pretty well too.  If you start lifting heavy and the joints start paying – especially when you’re dieting, when you’re body fat is lower, or when you’re trying to come back up, the creatine saves the joints until you get the extra body fat on so the joints don’t pay as much.

It doesn’t get any more simpler than that.  You want to do something like that to slowly increase your muscle size and not have to really worry about beating yourself up with too many supplements at once.  Again, this whole array of supplements that I have here – I tend to use when I’m getting ready for something.  Other than that, it’s real simple for me.

Advice on Getting Started

You don’t really have to do that much to get that far.  You just have to stay consistent and put those years in.  A lot of people I find on these sites and forums – I’ve talked to before.  They sit there and argue with me, go back and forth.  I’ve even had moderators talk crap and then you find out that they don’t know what they’re talking about.  It’s all about experience guys when you want to try to put size on and when you want to try to grow.

The more you do it, the more you gain experience and the more you find out about your body.  You don’t have to worry about some knucklehead in a forum, whose a moderator or not, trying to tell you, you need to do this regimen or that regimen.  When it comes to training, the best teacher, the best regimen is experience – plain and simple.  You want to go through it yourself.  Of course you can get some knowledge from the pros, but everyone is different.

So you’re your best critic.  You’re your best teacher.  If you don’t go through the trenches, I’m sorry to say that there ain’t a regimen out there that can help you.  I’m a personal trainer and that includes mine.  You know when I work with people, it’s all about learning them,  and finding out what works for them.  There’s no way in hell I would give somebody a regimen and just say, “Here, go do this.”

So when I see that kind of stuff it kind of angers me because it doesn’t make sense.  It’s almost  like a doctor prescribing the same amount of drugs for every patient.  A one-fits-all type of thing.  That’s what a lot of these regimens are.  You always what to make sure you find out what works for you by doing it and by experiencing it – not by some idiot trying to tell you something.  And that’s just the truth.

I’ll always try to keep it real when it comes to doing stuff.  There’s no sugar coating and that’s that.  It doesn’t matter if you’re natural or on drugs.  You have to learn stuff and you learn it by doing it.  That’s the best advice I can give you guys.  There’s a lot of things out there and I know it gets confusing but you can always contact me and ask me, and I’ll be straight forward with you.

I’ve been around for a long time.  I’ve been in magazine and have done shows that have been on TV.  I’ve been successful and I’ve lost too.  It’s just all about learning.  Don’t forget to subscribe after you see this.  Train hard, eat well and we’ll see you again.
